About the event
Joan Hodges is one of our NYSCA Support for Artists grantees.
Joan is a Hempstead-based quilter who creates Afro-centric quilts and dolls telling the stories of Black American history.
For this project she created a quilt with Sheroes of Black History, highlighting the women who have been central to her life and her narrative.
