Description:
Though much altered, this house is a uniquely ornate example of the Italianate style in its neighborhood. The house appears on an 1872 map of Patchogue. Two stories high and three bays wide, its square massing and elaborate decorations are typical of Italianate architecture. The house is of brick construction with wood brackets and cornices. Its Mansard roof features prominently, and is clad in asphalt shingle that mimics the look of scalloped slate. Gabled dormers features on the front façade, and are capped by hood moldings. Its wide eaves are accented by carved brackets. Interior stucco-over-brick chimneys are set within the south and west elevations. The sash windows are one-over-one replacements. The house is painted white, except for the red brick main entrance porch additions.
